| Bio: | Mrs. Monica Hernandez was
born on August, 22, 1972 in the Bronx, NY. of
the United States. She started practicing Karate
and Aikido Ninjitsu with Master Malcom Yong, 6th
Dan, at Combined Forces Karate-Do Academy in New
Jersey at age 9. Mrs. Hernandez started to
practice Taekwon-do WTF and Hopkido in
Stroudsburg, Penn., USA from 1996 to 2003 under
Grandmaster Sung Bok Nam, coach of USA National
Team and President of the American Korean
Taekwon-Do Association. In 2003, she survived the fight of her life, when diagnosed with Cervical Cancer. In 2004 she moved with her family to Puerto Rico, she started to practice ITF Taekwon-Do with Mr. Andres Muniz after refusing to accept her doctor’s advice that she could no longer be able practice Taekwon-Do or the martial arts. In 2007 under Grandmaster Hwang S. Kwang Unified International Taekwon-do Federation, Representative UITF of Puerto Rico and Administrator of Fighting Tigers TKD & Self Defense Inc. In 2008 also practicing Vee Sanu Jujitsu under Professor Jose Cruz and practicing Doksoori Mu Sul under KukSuNim Miguel Santiago. Since refusing to quit practicing she has achieved the following: • National 2nd Degree Black Belt in Taekwon-Do under National Council Taekwon-Do in Puerto Rico. • Over 20 1st & 2nd Places in Forms, Self-Defense and Breaking in diverse events in Puerto Rico. • Grand Championship Forms Seniors Division and Self Defense in Yauco International Martial Arts Tournament two years in a row. • Grand Championship Breaking in Battle Of Yudanjas • International 2nd Dan Black Belt with UITF under Grandmaster Hwang S. Kwang • Unified International Taekwon-do Federation’s Representative For Puerto Rico |
