Bio: Andres Muniz Vega, International Instructor and Chief Instructor of UITF TaeKwon-Do Puerto Rico.
He was born on October 23, 1963. In New London, Connecticut, United States. Even though he practice diverse martial arts such as American Karate, Kickboxing and Kung-fu he started to practice TaeKwon-Do in 1990 under Mr. Rafael Ortiz Orta, 1st Dan Black Belt under the instructions of the ITF Young Brothers Taekwon-Do of Master Benny Rivera.

In 1991, he became he left the ITF Young Brothers and became a student of Mr. Sergio Colon Jr., 5th Dan in Traditional TaeKwon-Do achieving his 1st degree black belt under the American Independent TaeKwon-Do Federation (AITF) in 1993. In 1989 he attended an open tournament in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico and meet Mr. Claudio Guzman, 2nd Dan Black Belt of IITO-ITF in Dominican Republic in which he invited me to visit his country to attend and ITF International Seminar given by General Choi Hong Hi, Founder of TaeKwon-Do. In the seminar I met Grandmaster Hwang S. Kwang, President of Korea American TaeKwon-Do Union (KATU) and Chairman of ITF Promotion Committee, Master Benny S. Rivera, President of Puerto Rico ITF and Dr. Andres J. Mencia, President and Founder of the International Institute of TaeKwon-Do Oh Do Kwan (IITO) and other ITF dignitaries. After this event Mr. Muniz became part of the ITF under Dr. Andres J. Mencia, actual 8th Dan and Mr. Ramon Mateo, actual 6th Dan ITF, representing IITO in Puerto Rico. In 1998 Mr. Muniz became member of KATU-ITF under the guidedance of Grandmaster Hwang S. Kwang.

With the divisions of the ITF, Mr. Muniz aliens his organization under the ITF under the guidance of GM Choi Jung Hwa and son of General Choi Hong Hi participating in diverse events and tournaments nationally and internationally, especially serving as coach and competitor for the Puerto Rico National Team in the 2004 ITF World Seniors and Juniors Championships in Daejeon, South Korea, ITF Pan-American TaeKwon-Do Championships in Ottawa, Canada, and others.

Actually Mr. Muniz is a 4th degree black belt and is studying under Grand Master Kwang Sung Hwang 9th degree black belt. Founder of Unified International Taekwon-Do Federation I.T.F.

Approval of the 1st ITF College accredited course in the National College of Business & Technology, Campus of Arecibo.

National Puerto Rico Coach & Competitor in the 2004 ITF World Seniors and Juniors Championships in Daejeon, South Korea.

Silver Medals Tuls & Sparring 2003 ITF Pan-American Championships, Ottawa, Canada.

Silver Medal Tul & Bronze Medal Sparring 2002 ITF Goodwill Championships, New Haven, Connecticut, United States.

Gold Medal Tuls & Silver Medal Sparring in the 1998 IITO-ITF Antilleans TaeKwon-Do Championships in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Participation in General Choi Hong Hi 1995 International Seminar in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Puerto Rico Representative to the 2001 ITF-C International Convention and Master Choi’s International Cup in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
